Shake Up Your Life | How to Change Your Own Perspective

Don’t we all fantasize about a luxurious home, fancy wheels, latest gizmos, trendy Gucci purse, or some extravagant getaway?

What’s your goal?

Is it to celebrate your efforts? To enjoy your achievements? To spend good times with family & friends? To break away from the usual craziness?

Or

To post those pictures on Instagram, Facebook, or Social Media sites to show your sumptuous lifestyle? To get the endorsement of the society or to quantify your progress?

When did this begin? This Social Conditioning

When did we require a lead on the Societal Ranking System to feel flawless? When did we fail to comprehend, only we can make us genuinely content.

Your self-worth has nothing to do with your craft or calling, and everything to do with how you treat yourself.

~ KRIS CARR

When we were kids, our sense of self-love was organic. Unpolluted by the outside forces. Our thoughts freely gravitated to the infinite innocent possibilities, we called Paradise.

Our juvenile purity never limited our souls to the boundaries called Comparison. We never ranked our self-worth against other’s approval.

Happiness was not relative. It was absolute!

Cartoon animation broadcasted once a week. Summer Holidays to spend time with our buddies. A carton of pastels to paint our world to a shoddy toy that we held dear to our hearts.

There held no opinion, no great price labels, no doubt, or regret, just pure joy.

We didn’t seek perfection, we created a flawed perfect world of imagination enclosed by the walls of positivity enveloping us.

Life was uncomplicated cause we listened to our hearts, that was unclouded & heed no judgments.

We laughed more, we dreamt more, we slept well; above all, we felt the absolute harmony.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

~ RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Life isn’t sulking around what others have & we don’t. It’s lovely to be ambitious, but not limited. You may have blessings you ignored that others could exchange their lives for.

Life isn’t rated on the number of zeroes in the bank account. The variety of garments in our wardrobes.

Life is truly about who we are & how content we are, being authentic self.

If life takes a toll, listen to your inner voice that giggles to the simplest of joys. Embrace it.

The world may object but know your self-worth. You are enough & that’s what counts.

Love yourself first, before you love someone else.

Your crown has been bought and paid for. Put it on your head and wear it.

~ Dr. Maya Angelou
